went out on opening day and caught 5 keeper largmouth, the wife was bummed the "SHE" wasn't catching anything, then bang a 22" pike hahaha stinking pike for you. 10min later she landed 3+lb smallie (slapping me in the face) this fish was fat from eating whatever it could find i real pig. we were fishing pumpkin colored tubes casting on to the sand flats.
sorry i can't tell ya the water temp my stator is blown and we had no electronics except for the trolling motor (had to jump start the big motor with a trolling motor battery) such is life. but the fishing is going to be hot this year i just know it.
Went there Sunday, from 8:30 to 3:30, in the rain. West end-54*, ramp-50*, and east end 52*. Caught a 25" pike on a senko, a keeper lm and 6 of his smaller buddies fell to a shad-shaped worm (yama) on a scrounger head. Tried jerks, spinnerbait, squarebill, little n, small swimbait, and caught my first lm of the year on a bitsy jig / chunk. Had fun and didn't want to leave...but the rain was working on me. Later....
