Title: Hamlin/Pere Marquette
Post by: robhj on April 28, 2013, 03:14:38 PM
Had a decent opener. Started off at PM and caught a dozen smallies, several pike, & a lake trout. All fish were caught in 4-10' of water and came on jerks & traps mostly. The better fish came on the trap (Red Eye). Biggest smallie went 4.2. Water temps were 48-55. Headed over to Hamlin today and managed 3 largies in a few hours and called it a weekend. Probably should have went back to PM but wanted to target muskies. Water clarity was good in both lakes but clearer in PM. I only fished the north section of Hamlin and it had a slight stain to it. All the largies were caught on a 8" muskie jerkbait. It felt great to finally be on the water.
