I would have to say I love the smallmouth. Large mouth are fun to catch but you can't beat a nice chunky smallie grabing hold and comming strait up.

By a VERY narrow margin, I would have to say largemouths...

Maybe we need an "I can't choose a favorite" button? I love them both. I like whichever one I'm catching the best while I'm catching it.

I'm sure some anglers can choose, but... I don't know if I can choose a definite favorite. I'd feel like I'm cheating on the other one ;D

I can't pick.  They're both wonderful.

I'll say largemouth because most of the lakes that I fish have a much better population of them.  If I lived near smallmouth water, I'd go with smallmouth.

definitely smallmouth throwing a topwater and having a 4lber come out of the water 4 feet after you set the hook.

Smallies. They fight harder. They fight longer. Thats what its about for me.

Largemouth!!! Don't get me wrong, I love the fight of a smallie, but that is their downfall for me. They make me nervous until they are boated, probably lose 3-4 times as many smallies as largemouth.

Small or large doesn't matter as long as I have a bass on and it is big.  My neighbor down the street says he always wants to catch numbers and he doesn't matter whether they are keepers or not.  I on the other hand would like to catch quality not quantity.  Quantity can be easy, however the challenge is catching quality.
