Title: George Herter books
Post by: YpsiBass on February 21, 2013, 03:17:40 PM
Saw this article on F&S today:

I kind of want to read this now and wondered if anyone in the community had a copy that I could borrow.  Looks interesting.

I have to admit that I used to get all the Herter's catalogs and read them but I don't believe I ever owned one of his books..?? I have a bunch of books but they have mostly been relegated to forgotten bins or boxes because they 'collect dust.' The catalogs are probably all loooonnnngggg gone. If I thought I had this or one of his books I would try to look but I don't think I do.

The catalogs were kind of fascinating and also made me wonder at the same time often why did I bother getting them?!? I'm not sure I ever ordered anything. I think I just looked at them. We didn't have cell phones with cameras back then... we had too look at catalogs, books and stuff. Written on paper. Made from trees, I'm told.
