Cass lake again???
I believe so, but I forgot to ask to be sure and Anthony didn't say. I'll know very soon. That was the original plan.
Cass Lake on August 4th
The ABA is there on August 5th so I hope all ABA members come out to help.
Do you want us to start signing up now or wait till later?
No time like the present. Just post on here and I'll add to the list.
I'm in. I'll just be alot more careful going home this year.
I'll be out of town that weekend, so unfortunately I can't make it. But I would encourage anyone on this board who is considering it, to participate. Last year it was a lot of fun and very gratifying to be able to provide a great time out for these kids. The kids are great and really appreciative.
I'll will be out of town as well. It is a blast - you'll remember the Joy you bring to those kids for years to come. If at all possible, sign up and help a kid out.

Can someone provide more information on this? I know nothing about it and would like to know more. I wasn't around last year so I don't have the benefit of history.

Cfruel, this is a charity event for at risk kids. Basically you take a couple of kids, or a kid and a chaperone out fishing for the day. It's a casual tournament. You can weigh in anything. There were pike, bluegills, bass, perch, etc weighed in. They provide live bait and rods and reels for the kids. Many of them are older teens...both boys and girls. After, they provide a nice picnic style lunch (hot dogs etc) and give away a bunch of prizes to just about everyone who participates. It's a lot of fun and the kids really appreciate it. It's a blast watching how excited they get when they hook into a 4 inch bluegill. ;D
We'll fish for about 4 hours and then have the eats/awards at one of the pavilions near the boat ramp at Dodge No 4 state park on Cass Lake.
Crossroads for Youth staff brings several bus loads of kids down - the number depending on how many boats we have. We had little over 30 boats last year and took over 50 kids fishing.
I am going to start a new thread for this - but I wanted to add in this one that I need help, prizes, and boaters...
Thomas - are you still in?
We need boaters at Dodge #4 State Park on Cass Lake around 7 AM. Thanks.
