Anyone down to go fishing tomarrow? I still haven't made up my mind but I REALLY want to go...
I'm also debating on where to go if I do go out...
Belleville is close... I'd like to get out to St. Clair but I haven't been able to get a view of the water to see if its clean or not... Hot Ponds are also tempting, but i've never been and I don't want to lose my lower unit...
Again... I'm still not sure if i'm going, but I really want to go...

I'm heading out tomorrow but I'm from a different neck of the woods from you. Down and over in N. Indiana I'm heading out to the St. Joe River for a couple hours. I wish you luck though! ;)
Thanks!!
Should be a good time... I got McCarter taggin along in the boat... and Cast-n-blast is gonna join us as well...
Can't wait to whack some large and smallheads...
Jose
I expect another riveting fishing report...
I'm gonna taint my reputation even further today. I went walleye fishing today with a buddy on the St. Joe River and caught 1/2 dozen. To make matters worse, we were using a jighead with a minnow attached. Live bait again! I'm sorry to let you guys all down, but my partner brought them and I couldn't get bit on artificial baits...
It was fun though! ;D
We whacked'em... I leave the riveting report to McCarter...
Aw cmon now!?! Chicks dig a riveting fishing report...! We need to hear about somebody whacking them!
You guys are killing me. I opened up my own restaurant last month and haven't had a chance to fish in months. I drive by the unfrozen lakes every day and cringe. But hopefully it will all pay off and ten years from now I'll be fishing full time again. Until then it's 80 plus hours a week for me.
Team mc carter/Garza 16 lbs 10 oz
Team Cheetam/Johnson 11lbs 12oz
big fish mc carter/Garza 4 1/2 lb smallie
great day of fishing ;D
Where did you guys fish?!? (BTW... it's too cold for smallmouths...they go dormant this time of year...don't you guys read the magazines?!?)

There's someone who understands the concept of long term planning... where's the restaurant?
Team McGarza boated approximatley 45 fish... with a good portion being keeper sized fish... we did get a couple of kickers... I believe cast'n'blast and jcheetam caught around 35 ish...
All in all it was a great time had by all... can't wait to do it again...
It was a good time. After overcoming the initial paranoia of being a co-angler on Cast n blasts' Skeeter and settling down after watching 2 dudes in a row boat and a dad and his two kids wacking fish for an hour and a half (while we had 1 :o), we decided to move around a little and picked off the fish that Team McGarza left behind for us. It was awesome being on the water and even better boating close to 40 fish. I'll post some pics later today or tomorrow...Thanks for letting me tag along Skip...I had a good time!
"paranoia"?
Bro my boat is your boat!
It was a great day fishin with ya.
gotta go to bps and get that rooster tail kit and trout rod then we can spank team mc carter/garza ::)
So......where were ya?

HA! :D :D :D
You said it the best out there...fishing can be a humbling sport!
Okay dudes, why you all holding out on the location. It was a great day yesterday. I was very close to going out and instead did work around the house. Sounds like a wrong decision. :)
The future forecast looks like it is turning soon making all the ice fisherman happy.
Glad to hear you guys had such a good time. Days like that, this time of the year, are
such bonuses. It was about 7 years ago I had the chance to fish on January 11th at Metro. Cool stuff.

'Twas a super secret "Hot" spot on erie where us and 10 or 12 other guys went fishing... :D ;D
well i would've thought you guys would have done kent, but let me guess - the infamous 'hot' pond on erie. you have all of us holding our breath for the details.
I think the tournament angler genes are just tooo strong in these ones! Not too hard to guess though... and maybe a little mystery is fun this time of year...?
Now that winter looks like it may make a brief appearance and bass season is closed... all that's left is to come to Novi Saturday morning 1/13/07 to the TBF meeting at 9:30 AM to hear David Simmons, and then see the rest of the Ultimate Fishing Show!!!
I'll let the others ad lib...here's some pics of the Hot Pond excursion:

Wow,
Great pics. I am jealous. Thanks for sharing
Pic #3 is a little confusing. I am older and the eyes are starting to go, but I didn't know Tim McGraw was with you guys. Man Jeff. Send that one into a contest or something.
Nice fish btw. Today and tomorrow look like another couple more nice days. This is January right?

Yep, that's a younger, fatter, poorer version... :D
seriously. that place is sick. i dont know if they eat like that all the time, but if they do i am considering moving into a tree house along the shoreline. Unbelievable!
McCarter himself :-\'
Well I don't know about Tim Mcgraw, but maybe some race fans will agree with me that he looks exactly like Tony Stewart. Maybe it's just me?? Nice fish, I like the looks of that smallie ;D

Good thing for Jeff that the picture didnt pick up all the grey in that beard. Tim McGraw? Maybe. But im leaning more towards Willie Nelson.

Well I can honestly say that those largemouth are typical "Hot Pond" Bass. Even the little ones are fat. And yes they eat like that year round. I have never known the water temperature to fall below 50 degrees in there. That smallmouth is typical of the Hot Pond. As a 20 year veteran of fishing that Hot Pond, the smallies are usually caught at the mouth or way in the back by the discharge in the current. There aren't a lot but they are usually good ones. Nice catchin fellas and I am glad the info I gave Skip got you all in there safely and home safely. I wish I could have joined you.
