Hello Greatlakesbass members,
I am looking to participate in all the 2013 BFLs as a co-angler. I have not registered yet and I was wondering if anyone could tell me how quick the co-anglers slots get filled? It would be very beneficial to hold of on registering but I don't want to register too late. Also, do I need to find a boater to match up with to guarantee entry? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, best of wishes.
Your best bet is to sign up "Linked" to a boater...That doesn't mean you will be fishing with him that just guarantees that you both will fish....You can put an "ad" in the "Looking for Boater/coangler" room here and post one over at lakestclair.net in the tournament section..
I can't really say if there normally is an excess of Co anglers vs boaters...I haven't fished many lately but the ones I have fished have gone back and forth...Sometimes there is more boaters and sometimes there are more Coanglers...Usually there are more Cos though..
It may be a little hard to find a boater to sign up with if you aren't 100 percent ready to commit yet.....Alot of those guys like to see their link registered for all 5 so they can rest easy, but you should find someone...
I don't know if you have fished any yet but there are some newer videos at the FLW site about getting started in the BFLs that are pretty good...
If you have any specific questions PM me...I will be glad to give you my help for what it is worth... ;D
There is an Everstart Tournament on the Detroit River in July you may want to look at fishing also....you can't link for Everstarts but I would be willing to bet they will be looking for Cos.
