Is RDT going to be around in 2013? I haven't been able to access their website and left a few messages and an email for Chad before the holidays without a response. Any insight would be excellent.
thx

I heard that it was sold following the questionable classic and happenings last season. I figured it was going to be eliminated but am still wondering just as you are.
Questionable Classic and happenings? Can someone update me on this?
thx

I don't think Chad did anything wrong last year I just heard he had some personal issues to take care of so he sold it.
I heard about that as well but I heard a lot of anglers complaining about a very weak payback compared to the 2011 classic, despite more boats in each event. I didn't fish last season, but was hoping to fish again in 2013. It was only hearsay from a bunch of guys at different tournaments toward the end of last season.
I fished the classic, missed the money by one spot with only 4 fish (had the 5th one all the way to the boat too!!!! AAGGHH!!). The "issues" were as much an ego thing by a couple anglers and Chad conflicting as anything. In my opinion Chad did everything he said he would do. There was some confusion (best word I can come up with) about the Power Pole sponsorship. The coupons were not given out at the event because Chad had not received them yet but were promised to the winners.
The reason there is no RDT at this point is a personal issue for Chad that I do not feel free to discuss in an open forum. Add to it that he no longer works at Camp-n-cruise.
That makes perfect sense. The certificates would account for the prize money that the anglers I ran into were complaining about. Hopefully some of them read this post so they know everything was handled and accounted for in the end. I really liked Chad's circuit
Martin and I enjoyed fishing them as well. Might have to fish the BAM circuit this year instead.
The classic payout was a joke you guys might think chad did everything he said he would but if you do the math there is a good chunk of money missing from the three qualifying tournaments. Think he said 9% of each entry fee went to the classic payout and that checks out but when we did the math over a grand from each event was not paid out and that was including bigbass, tournament payouts, and the 9% for the classic. my assumption is he Kept the cash and was counting on the power pole money to cover that but his personal life apparently screwed that up. from what I see is out there to fish on the west side this year nothing gets me very excited or worth my while, I might not be doing much tournaments with what options I see out there as of right now. Bring lakedrive back!!!!
Tim, from what I understand most of that money went to the food. Again, that's just what I understand. It was pretty good food.
Food was good but very bad choice if it meant 3 to 4 grand less in the classic imo.

I would agree with you on that. A whopper on the way home is what I would have done and been happy with it. More money to the fishermen is always a good thing.
Thanks for all the information gentlemen. Nothing against Chad, never met him (only spoke with him on the phone), but where theres smoke ... When it comes to business dealings, as soon as I hear 'personal matters', I generally look somewhere else. The two always need to be separate (at least from the consuming public / customer / outside looking in), IMHO.
Too bad, the payouts certainly looked better than most.
