I am ending this season on a crappy note. I was hoping for a good fishing report and some pictures, but that's not going to happen.
A little navigational error left me and my dad on top of a sandbar this evening. I was heading in to the conservation club, and knew I had to hit the entrance just right between the sandbars. I was watching my GPS, I had slowed way down, and all of a sudden the motor is out of the water and we are stopped. We were 10 feet from the water I needed to be in, and the boat was in 5 inches of water. With the cloud cover, I couldn't see what I was looking for, which is why I had slowed way down. Eventhough the fastest we went was 35 just because it was cold.
To make a long story short, I called my uncle and he brought out some waders and knee boots for us. The three of us pushed the boat off the sandbar, and away we went. It's pretty funny that he walked to my boat from his truck. But anyways, I have no desire to go out tomorrow now. I am really anxious for opning day 2013.
Bummer Mike, sorry to hear you got stuck. Wish I had time to get out this week but it's just not possible.
I'm just really glad I wasn't flying. It went far enough up the sandbar going slow. Normally you can see the sand and the daker water, but yesterday it wasn't visible. I might try to get out again. We will see.
