WooHoo!! We found a few this evening. It started out slow in the spot we fished last night, but my buddy managed a 3.25#'er in 8 feet of 38 degree water. I moved across the lake to another spot in 25 feet of water. We found a little pack of chunkers. We got 8 of them in about a half hour.
Funny thing is that I made a waypoint in this spot early this fall because I caught one 3.5 pounder. Everytime I pulled the boat on that waypoint, the fish alarm would sound, and we would hook up. It was awesome.
This may be the last trip. But, it may not be. We will see.
Nice job Mike!
I am contemplating a Christmas Eve morning smallie trip. I haven't looked at the weather yet, that way I still have something to be excited about. Please don't ruin it for me. I don't want to hear bad news.
Nice job on the fish.
I fished Muskegon Mon and Tues for baitfish and let my icy porch scare me out of Wed. morning. By the time I realized how nice it actually was, the better half had me on the honey do's.
On a side note, where are you launching? I had to quit Cottage grove and am now on Grand trunk, but man is it tough with the low water. Are you using Fishermans or Hartshorn?
I know Mike uses Fishermans... except for that ONE dock. Right Mike? :o
Hmmmm.... Christmas Eve morning eh? Too bad I have to go to breakfast with Juli and her daughter (it's the daughter's 19th birthday on the 24th). I'd rather go fishing!
Yeah, that one dock can kiss my....... I launch at Fisherman's. That's the nicest of the two launches within five minutes of my house. It is definitely getting skinny though. I am praying for a ton of snow and ice starting January 1st. 10 feet of skow and 5 feet of ice up until April 1st. Then it needs to be 65 and sunny up until opening morning.
As for this being my last report for the year..... Yeah right!! I will have one tomorrow afternoon and on Christmas Eve morning. Then it is up in the air for the next week. We will see. The Skeeter did say she's up to it.
Mike, I just had a thought for Monday. Tell her they serve the best breakfast at 5 a.m. After that it's all crap. Then you can be at the boat launch by 8. I have to be home by 11 or so for brunch with the mom in law and her boyfriend.

Yeah right... get a 19 year old girl to a restaurant by 5:00 a.m. HA HA HA HA !!!! Never gonna happen.
Funny thing is that it's just as hard to get a 32 year old to a restaurant at 5 a.m.
