Title: Jointed Swimbaits
Post by: LennyB on December 11, 2012, 05:26:37 AM
Has anyone tried using any 4" jointed swimbaits like the Spro BBZ-1 Shad or any other brand's smaller hard body jointed swimbait. I just ordered a couple of the Spro BBZ-1 4" Shad (fast sinking) to try on the deeper smallies next summer on LSC and hope I didn't waste my money. I watched their video on Youtube and it looks like a great bait.

Also, has any tried the H2O line of lures at Academy Sports. Their version of this bait is a fraction of the price. Just wondering if the quality is there? The spros sell for $20 and the H2O are only $4.

Any feed back is appreciated.

If the Academy ones are like their RC1.5 imitations stay away from them they are garbage.

Stay away from imitations period.

I've used those baits before.  As with all swimbaits I recommend changing out and upgrading the hooks and split rings.

I've used the Spro 4" with some success.  Never tried the knock-offs...don't know how they perform but they do not look as nicely built in the package.
