Title: I lost it
Post by: Redbone on October 20, 2012, 06:50:32 PM
Went out for a few hours today on a local lake. Had one of the best days this year. Im guessing a dozen keepers in two hours. That's not what gets me though. I had a big one on, possibly 6lbs. Hooked her right by the boat. She did a back and forth by the trolling motor and then shot under the boat. I might of had ten foot of line out. I shoved the rod in the water and Hung on for a good ten seconds. When she came back to my side of the boat she darted to the motor and was gone. I always thought I fished tournaments for the rush. But after yelling some profanity to myself I realised I was worked up. What a rush, and I didnt even land it. I was the only one on the lake. ;D This is the best time of year to fish!

good job on the others though!

i've had between the wife and I 7 aunts and uncles pass away this year and today was another funeral.

thought about going out this afternoon but went to see my mom and    my stepdad who had a stroke 4 weeks ago. i guess fishing isn't always that important.

Haha I'm not either but yes just saw them.  Hard to push down the thumb bar at those temperatures.  The weather is pretty volatile this time of year as showcased by the forecast for the coming week so let's just hope for the best!  This is absolutely one of the best times of the year to fish.

You can dress for cold!!  When there's ice on the lakes I'll put the boat up.

Caught 20 on Pentwater today.  Lot's of 3+ fish with one hitting 4 lbs exactly.

It took about 20 minutes to find a pattern. They seemed to be in deeper water and a jig was the ticket.  I was using a Kustom Kicker 3/8 oz. Freak!

Contact Dan at Kustom Kicker and order his smaller perch a rig.  I've been slownrolling mine on the bottom, his set up seems to mimic small bait balls better than the others.
