Do You use the Palomar Knot?

Yep, on nearly everything unless I need a loop knot.
Started useing it drop shotting and now use it on most other app's that it is possible. Not one slip or break this year on that knot.
One question. When you tie the drop shot after the knot is tied you bring the tag end back through the hook hole to keep it up. There isn't a need to do that on normal hookups,is there?
Bigshow, that is correct bring tag line thru the eye. I use this not for everything.
Are you supposed to bring it back through the eye on all hook ups? Or just drop shot? Not sure if I read your answer like that
I only do that on the drop shop to get the hook to go perpendicular to the line.
OK good, that's how I've been doing it. I see no need to do it the other way unless theres a need to keep it perpendicular
Bringing the line back thru the eye of the hook would not have any effect for anything other than the dropshot. If you did it for a wacky rig senko - it would add no value. It's the weight on the drop shot that makes the hook stand out parallel when you bring the line back through the eye.
I use palomar for everything I can now - easy to tie and very strong. You can snip the tag line very close to the knot and don't have to worry
I hear that T-bone. It seems like once in a while, especially when I would get a big one and it got off you would reel your line in and the end be curled up. Sure sign that the knot came out. I used to use the improved clinch knot. Now this year since using the Palomar knot, not one fish lost other than a clean break which could always be a pike or something.
