Title: Let it rain! Let it rain! Let it rain!
Post by: Mike S. on October 14, 2012, 05:40:09 PM
This is awesome!  We are getting hammered right now on the west side. Heavy rain, thunder, lightning, and high wind gusts. I have been praying for 3 feet of rain to get my lake back up. Well, we're getting some of it. I'm happy. I'll take a solid week of this, no problem.

I love the snow, but sold both of my speed to put more down on my boat. Last year was awesome, no snow to speak of. But, I'm really hoping we get hammered this year. That would be a good excuse to put a new toy in the garage  :P. I mean, that will help get the lakes back up.

As long as the wind isn't ripping this evening, I will be back out on the lake. It can rain all it wants, I just don't want strong winds. Have to get every day in that's possible. Running out of time.

I sure wish I could talk my wife into letting me bring the boat with us to Great Wolf Lodge in a couple of weeks. I wouldn't mind doing some fishing up there. But, that will never happen. I think my chances are better for winning the lotto. Oh well, let the rain keep falling.

Pollock, its time for an inside job man.

You can almost see the bay from there. At least theres still some fun for adults there to. If your looking for a good place to eat go down to the bay about 5-10 min from there to apache trout grill. Right on the bay. Good food, especially sunday brunch. And you can drool at the people out there fishing

Why won't she let you take it????  Tell her it's a way of getting you out of her hair for a little bit.  Just don't go overboard on the fishing, or is that not possible?  lolol  I took our boat up there for my daughter's soccer game 5 years ago this month. We stayed at Great Wolf for the weekend.  Got out on GTB and caught my first 6 pounder !!!!!

Depending on the weather Mike. I can take some time off and go out fishing. I'll show ya how to catch um on skeg LOL. Or whereever ya want. I got a secret lake about 5 minutes from that lodge I have yet to be on this year.

Na I didn't go to the Hawg hunt Dan and  Waterfoul.   I just really didn't want to fish in the rain all day. Plus those are not my most fav lakes to fish, even though I know theres whoppers in green. How were the weights??

I had been working in the rain all week and had had enuff of it.  I had a buddie up on leave from NC and Afgan and he wanted to go out and do some duck whopping.( said he wanted to shoot at things that didn't shoot back! :D) So I was out on Skeg in the stump field.   We only got 3 and he shot that 3rd out from under me. Damm military training! :D

And I'll totaly agree with BIG . the Trout is awsome food. It's not cheapy either , but not stupid priced.   The walleye is fannnnnnnnnnnnntastic!.   And drinks that are mixed well. To soften up the wife when ya ask to go fishing with me are top notch. of course  :D

Mike, the Pollock wasn't at the Hawg Hunt because it had nothing to do with ducks.

Pollock, thanks for the offer. I would love to fish with you while I'm up there, but I think she would kill me. We just found out yesterday morning that she has to have her back surgery refine. Her spine isn't healing right. The surgeon says he wants to do it before Christmas. I've done a lot of fishing this year, gotta make some family time. As of right now, we are planning on being up there in early June for her birthday.  She wants to stay on the bay. When I told her my plan, including the boat, she said she loves how I always think of her.  ;D
