Title: Middle channel Sunday
Post by: stratosjoe on October 14, 2012, 12:32:58 PM
was gonna use selfridge Sunday too much wind went to a ramp just east of the ferry boat crossing. Went back to the point separating north and middle and started fishing water temp 57-59 too many northern to count
all small then went out in the current throwing traps lost 3 right off the bat to very sizable fish maybe muskie or bigger northern? Tried silver buddies next finally a few smallmouth no size but considering never laid eyes on the water and its strong current we had a good time. Gonna hit selfridge again in the morning hopefully can get out. Oh the water in the channel is really shallow had to run motor at maximum tilt to get to the ramp.  I lost a very good friend yesterday in Danville,IL. They think he had a heart attack and fell out of the boat or fell in and died from hypothermia having an autopsy today . Either way we have discussed this numerous times and said it would be the way to go. God Bless You Kenny RIP your friend Joe.

Sorry to hear about your friend. I've been looking to get a lightweight life jacket since I go by myself alot. With the current and cold I could see getting seperated from the boat quick. Again,my condolences.
