A buddy of mine fished it... It took over 14 to win... I think 9 something to cut a check. Tough bite up there with no weeds.

That used to be such a great place to fish.

What happened to the weeds?

There are still plenty of weeds around that lake. They have started to die off a little bit with the seasonal change. There might not be as much emergent vegetation as earlier in the summer but there are still good weed beds to find fish in

Wixom can have periods of tough bites.  Probably mostly due to the sheer number of tournaments it has on it.  Any given Saturday you can see from 1-4 clubs fishing it.  At that point, the bite gets tough.  After your first hour, you will be fishing something that has already been fished.  Then it is about being different and showing the fish something "out of the norm".  Wixom can be tough like any other lake.  But there are lots and lots and lots of weeds as of lately.
