Since this is kind of a "fun" event, anyone been there lately or going this week? Most of us are driving quite a ways and won't be able to pre-fish so a little info would be appreciated.
Cool?
Thanks!
See you all there this weekend.
Mike
In my years of fishing up that way in the Fall, you better have an all white double willow spinnerbait tied on. (http://www.nicholslures.com/pulsator_metal_flake_spinnerbaits.htm ) Also a carolina rig with a zipper or similar bait. ( http://www.zipperwormcompany.com/store?page=shop.browse&category_id=19 )
I have also learned that those smallies can be up quite shallow and a topwater bait thrown right up onshore can be very effective. Seems like the small popper type topwater work better that walk the dog baits. I like the Ricos personally.
Horrable fishing. They all left for Florida. I swear I wouldn't lie to you guys ;D
Ha ha ha! The Pollock has been fishing all year for this event. That's too funny.
He's probably burned his spot though!!! Probably nothing but ducks on it now!!
I prefer all chartreuse on Skeg but I might not be fishing Skeg. I might be fishing Elk... You never know.
They like sand colored things up there too. I have to find my sand colored Xtreme Bass Tackle tubes. I think someone posted a fishing report recently and they provided some good details about Skeg. Sounds like the fishing was pretty good.
I actually have been fishing it more this year just for that reason Mike . :D
So far a 4th and 2nd place finish on the lake plus a whopper day or 3 . Definatly did better than worse.
I'm ready , Wind is supposed to be calm too for the weekend.
7th or 8th in your future bud. Just saying. LOL!!
If ya mean getting to the ramp 7th or 8th. Now way. We alllllll know Dan will be the last to get there :D
Not!!! I'm riding shotgun. I will be early... ::)
