Post by: McCarter on November 17, 2006, 02:10:53 PM
Hey gang,

Cabelas is having a big ice fishing sale this weekend.  I will be there working for who knows, but if anyone needs any ice fishing garb, come check it out and come say hi to me and tell me everything you know about ice fishing so i dont look like too much of a phony.

I will be there Saturday and Sunday!

PB himself :-\'

(pssst... you drill holes in the ice and then try to cast into them I believe...)

One day a Miami of Ohio grad is out ice fishing. He's spuds a hole and then picks up a casting rod and ties on a rapala. He casts? it out over the ice and reels it in, casts it out and reels it in. Meanwhile an OSU grad is in his house over looking the lake pacing back and forth and muttering about the fool on the ice. Directly he can't stand it any longer and jumps on his snowmobile and drives down to the guy on the ice. He asks him what and the heck does he think he's doing. The Miami of Ohio grad says trying to catch a walleye. The OSU grad says, "Are you crazy you can't catch a walleye like that! Jump on the back you have to troll with one of those."

PS? A killer walleye rig. Number 7 jigging rapala. Snip the nose and rear hooks off (All these do is get hooked on the ice when you try to land your hog.) and upsize the treble several sizes. Tip the treble with a minnow pinched in half. Favorite color. Chartreuse and white with a red throat.

One more thing: Grill them on whether they are going to build a Cabellas over here on the west side. Lots of rumors and some news reports that they are going to build one in NW Grand Rapids in Walker. I need some where to spend the winter.
