-Machined, ported and double anodized aluminum spool

   Model: PFLSUMMITLP
   Weight: 7.8 oz :
   Gear Ratio Bearings: 7.1:1
   Line Cap.: 10lb / 100 yds
   Price:$ 159.95

Anyone try one of these yet?  What really caught my eye was the number of bearings, the materials, the weight, gear ratio, and price.  Thats a lot of reel for the money.  I have never used a Pflueger, but this one has got my attention.

PB himself :-\'

Most of my reels are Pfluegers. I have had zero problems with them and I don't think you can beat 'em for the money. I use both the President and the Trion in casting reels, there's very little difference between them. A guy here in town fishes the FLW Tour and he told me about the only reel he sees down south is the President.
I recently hunted down and bought 3 Trion cranking reels off e bay - the 4.6 - 1 model. Nice, very nice!

The President spinning reels are a GREAT deal. I also have one Medalist. Very similar.

I like the President low profile casting reels quite a bit too, but the Trion cranking reels impressed me more because they seem like a better reel for smooth casting and use while costing a fair amount less than the President. I think they are great deal for price verses performance just like the President spinning reels.

I have not tried the Summit.

Thanks for that info fellas.  Now I have an excuse to go out and try Pfluegers.  I can now say to the wife "But the fellas on the website said they were good".  And just like that I am off the hook and using a couple of new Pfluegers.  She is always griping about how I have too much "stuff".  But when you are a man......stuff is good.    ;)  Hey maybe I can get her to get me one for Christmas.      :o

Leave it to me and I can come up with a plan.  My Lovely Bride is always saying how unorganized I am and that I have no plan.  If she only knew.     ;)

I always like to say that I am organized within my own mess.  That is my story and I am sticking to it.    8)
