Title: Muskegon Lake 7/31
Post by: Mike S. on July 31, 2012, 05:19:49 PM
Absolutely stroked them today on Muskegon!!!  We got sent home from work today due to a power outage, so I took a couple of buddies out with me.

We hit the water about 11:30. First came a couple of pike on a swim jig. Then a couple of barely keeper bass on senkos. Water temps varied from 79 to 82. We ran the lake a bit, and hit a few other spots, picking up a few fish here and there.

I am being careful with information due to the fact that we don't know where the ROI classic is going to be fished yet. We hit our last spot of the day. Oh, it was ON!!!!  We caught close to 25 keepers in under 2 hours. That's just keepers. We had a LM that went 4.10, and one that went 3.27. We had 2 smallies around 3 pounds. It was an awesome day.

Now I am on the couch nursing a wicked sun burn. I am lobstered.   Man I wish I could put the pics up, but it will be a dead giveaway. Maybe after the classic.

Sure did......n't!  It was fun. Couldn't believe how they were biting in the middle of the afternoon. Those guys have never bass fished a big, high pressure lake. They are used to private lakes. They were excited. I let them catch most of the fish. I told them where to cast in all the spots we went to. I should have charged a guide fee.

One of these times on your way through, you should drop by Jeff. Call me a little ahead of time.

I know right where Mike was catching all those fish.  The spot location is for sale to the highest bidder.  Shall we start at say... $20?

;D

You wouldn't!?  Is it because I said I was going to post your phone number?  Or is it because I told them not to let you fish Fremont on Labor Day?  Or is it because I told them if they let you fish, it was an automatic 10# deduction?  If it's any of that, I was just joking. Honest. Fisherman's honest!

Fisherman's honest??

OK, price is now down to $15.  Honest?  Sheesh.... (he says shaking his head...)

I was like the 2nd or 3rd boat signed up for Fremont.  Good luck with that one.

No deduction needed... Migoski will be there so we're all fishing for 2nd place anyway (kidding).

And you can give my STORE phone number to anyone you want!

;D

Wow!!  You must have really high expectations if you consider second place bombing.

Sorry for derailing your Muskegon thread.  I wouldn't so much call it high expectations as confidence.  We lost 2 fish that may have made the difference.  I don't like that.  There's about 3 patterns that win there, and we commit to one of them for the whole day, fish for five big bites, never try to get a limit first and upgrade later.
I don't think I've ever met ya, but introduce yourself.  I like tx fishing for the competition and the people I meet. Last weekend there were guys that stuck around to make sure we got the boat on the trailer cuase I had a trim selenoid quit on me and the motor only wanted to trim down.  I had a spare and got it swapped out and then showed those guys where they were and what to do if they had the same prob.  That's what its about.

Oh, and this is for Ozinga, no spinning rods allowed in Old blue! ;D
