Confirmed - Two times out now. The two 4 lbrs that anchored our bag in last weeks NBAA Tuesday night were caught on Kustom Kickers new, right sized, Alabama Rig !! The only team that smoked us was .... yup .... Scott Dobson AND Joe Balog.

We worked in deeper waters, and only caught bigger 4s on the A rig while my partner was popping the 3 lbrs with a tube. Once we found em, we had to weed through the medium fish. One time I hooked a double, but it came unbuttoned. That was cool !
Using the 7'6" Heavy braid is like a direct, non shock absorbing connection to these pigs. The pull is so much more impressive than when you have a medium DS rod with floro. I cant believe how much my Tube and DS rods cushion these fish. So before you quit throwing A Rigs, check with Dan (Link below to contact him) to see if he has any of the smallie A Rigs left, because once you make a few small, but critical adjustment to his (or any) A-Rig, these are sooo much fun. PM me and I might give you the details on how I adapted it to get the smallies to whale on it.
Cmon - someone else has got to be using the A rig effectively ? Did all 10,000 of you get taken for a $20 ride?
Great topic. Was cleaning the boat today getting ready for tomorrow night. I noticed I still have my A-rig rod rigged and in the bottom of the locker since Patoka in May. Got a box full of rigs i made that have never seen water. Might have to get it out one day. Probably in November when I put it away for the year. Not sure I have seen anyone throwing one on the inland events I fish.
I haven't had a chance yet. But I will. It was too much fun back in February so I will be trying it some more.
