Title: water pressure gauge
Post by: stackenem on July 16, 2012, 11:04:38 AM
Water pressure gauge will not go back down to 0 it stays at 20lbs when the motor is shut off. But when running it will go up to 25/30 lbs depending on how fast I'm going. What are your thoughts on this?

Thanks
Bill

Yup, you got a bad gauge.  Water pressure gauges are mechanical, and should return to zero when the boat is turned off.

You can also send it back for repair if it is a Faria (https://faria-instruments.com/forms/?form=new). Mine did the same thing and I had it repaired. Instead of capping it off while mine was out for repair I bought another one and put it in. Now that one has the same problem so I need to switch it with the repaired original now.

I'm back in Brighton, but have only been out fishing 3 or 4 times this year.  :'(
