The redesigned Abu Garcia Revo

The hugely popular Revo from Abu Garcia has been redesigned for 2012. It's lighter -- some models weigh as little as 5.4 ounces -- and stronger thanks to the new D2 Gear Design. And there are plenty of models to choose from.

In the casting line there are more than 20 models. The spinning line has more than a dozen. Each group offers reels suitable for fresh and saltwater.

Regardless of which one you choose, however, it'll be designed, constructed and tested for a lifetime of reliable performance.

I bought the Revo MGX just a couple of months ago. Got it in the 7.1:1 gear ratio. It is the lightest baitcaster I have ever held, hands down. The Quantum Exo is heavy compared to the MGX. It is amazing. I wish I had 3 of them. It casts so smooth, and the retrieve is beyond belief. It' s a very strong reel. It fears nothing. Mine is paired with a 7' medium action Carrot Stix rod. Together they weigh just over 8 ounces.
There is also a 7.9:1 geared reel. I wanted it, but it wasn't available where I bought mine. If I could have been patient, I could have saved a ton of money buying one off of eBay. It is well worth the cash.
