Title: Hamlin Lake
Post by: Firefighter Jeff on July 12, 2012, 01:22:14 PM
Looking forward to a two week vacation to Hamlin Lake starting Saturday.  Gonna get a little golfing in and family stuff, but if anyone is planning on fishing or wants to fish there, message me.  :)

Have a good time.  The mountain biking, Hiking and Geocaching in that area is pretty good if you are looking for something fun to do off the water with the family...

Don't know what golf course you plan on hitting, but if you haven't played Hemlock just north of town you should give it a try. It's very challenging and scenic for a public course and the green fees were quite reasonable when I played it three years ago.

I've seen a overhead map of the course.  It has TONS of sand.  I'd be in serious trouble, but thanks.  :)  But you didn't see me post about golf......   ;D

It's this hobby which is hard to enjoy because of all the time spent fishing.  :)

Well at the pace we are on, it will be 104 here in MI on Sept 1. Trying to keep my focus on fishing longer this year. Figured you'd know who I was on here.  ;D

Yeah, I fished the PM first full day I was here and had the same problem with the pike.  Think at least 4 of them have tubes in their throats.    >:(

I caught plenty, but more real small ones than I can ever remember catching.

Same here. Tons of bass around 14-16". They seemed to fight hard though. When I did boat the pike i'm surprised they didn't have a mouthfull of plastics. Cause I lost a bunch setting hooks
