Can anyone give me a little idea of where to put in in the bay? Also possibly an idea of baits? This is my first time out there and i'll be going around July 6. My cottage is just south of there (bass lake) and id like to see if its as good as I hear. Thanks alot
I've usually put in at the Elk Rapids harbor launch. Rocks to the North. Sand and weeds to the South.
Thanks, thats a start.
I haven't been there in quite a while. I think there have been several similar threads on this topic real recent if you do a search.
Thanks Dan. Kinda imbarrassed, i've been on here for a year and never really noticed the search engine you have for the site. Thanks again.
I will be up there then. It was great fishing last year at this time. I am hoping for more of the same. I will be there in my little white and red Ranger. Although its usually really busy during the day with recreational boaters.

No problem. Some people get real worked up about these things on other forums but I'm just trying to help. There's quite a bit of great information on the forum for those willing to search a little. Might be faster than waiting to see if someone notices your post in time to help out and has the time to help out during our short, busy fishing season.
Hope it's not too late, Live bate works best minnows, leaches, crawfish or worms. Or white tubs or grubs will do the trick. Extreme bait puts out a sandcraw color that works pretty darn good.
I really like sand colored tubes (http://xtremebasstackle.com/Catalog/Store.mvc.aspx/Tubes/4CPTUBE) up north at times. Because sometimes the bass up there really like them.
