Got on the lake around 6pm. I brought my 12ft so c ouldnt run ttoooo far... fished the weeds on the rocky banks. caught 4 13.5in fish pitching a beaver to thetqho inside edge if the mat. Didnt seem to be holding on the outside edge or under the mat.Lost a hog where the bank turns toward the dam. Fished some docks only one dink... Fished under us 10 and around the bridge with a beaver and square bill and caught 2 2lbers....several shorts.... From what I hear tournaments are won fishing slop with frogs upriver. Had a good time

There are a few good spots this time of year.  You need to focus a little deaper to get the good ones.  Try the 6-10 drops.

I personnally did horrible...my partner kicked my butt from the back of the boat and put just over 12 lbs in the boat...We didn't prefish and it showed....

There were quite a few weights over 15lbs and Kevin Vida won with over 20lbs...It took over 16lbs to cash a check....5 fish limit....

It seemed to me most guys caught fish relating to the Channel.....There are some nice fish in Sanford....Some really nice Smallmouth and Largemouth, I saw fish weighed of both species over or pushing 5lbs....

Sanford is a great lake for both species. Once you learn the lake from the south dam all the way to the wixom lake dams it can be a blast. I feel that in the hot summer months the bigger ones really relate to good structure near the river channel. If you find some decent structure with good cover near it thats normally a good place to find them

Hey motocross, was that the nbaa you fished this past weekend?

No, it was the Team Bass Open that our club runs.......It was a good time, hope to see more boats next year..We ended up with 22 boats, which isn't too bad considering it was our first year back to Sanford...

The Park upgrades and docking at Sanford are top Notch....Great place to bring the family and make a day out of it...

For Midland County residents it is $6.  For everyone else I think it is 8 or 10 per day.
