This kind of hit home after this past weekend...We delayed the launch of our Tournament to allow a pretty good lightning/Thunder storm to pass through Saturday.....
A Florida TBF angler was killed by a lightning strike while fishing a TBF tournament in Florida.....No Tournament or fishing trip is worth being "Dead"...

I read this with goosebumps. Tim and I were struck by lightning last year while fishing on Magician Lake in Sister Lakes, while a tournament was in progress. We were between an island and shore, assuming that the high cover and lack of open water would save us from the storm, but it got to us. Never felt anything like it before and never want to experience it again. Makes me feel like we didn't take a direct hit, since these guys were unconscious and we just felt really weird. Did have to get all the electrical in the motor replaced as it fried every bit of it. Mechanic said only time he had ever seen that kind of problem was with lightning strikes, and I hadn't even told him we were hit by lightning!

I think I will be doing more safety tips and reminders this year.
