White Lake is put on by that little tackle shop by the launch. I think it is called Mitchell's.  In this tournament, unless they have changed the rule, you can fish live bait.  The live bait guys don't always win either.  They also allow for you to troll.  It is a catch and delayed release tournament.  I have fished this in the past.  I have gotten in the money although never won it.  If you like White Lake, it is a pretty fun tournament to fish.

There is one more opening day tournament that I know of.  The All-Star Angler's are putting on their opener to their Lake Erie Tournament Trail on opening day.  The Tournament Director does a really great job on letting all participants know where the boundaries for fishing are since the Detroit River will still be Catch and Immediate Release until the 3rd Saturday in June.  Basically all Michigan Waters south of the southern tip of Celeron Island are open.  I don't know if it is allowed to go to Ohio waters.  The Tournament Director is John Angelo and he can be reached at 313-386-0163.  Call him for any information that you need.
