Went down for the CIR opening weekend. Temperature was low 60s, but with the east wind felt more like mid-50s. Launched from Gallup Park. Fished white 3/8 ounce chatterbait, a shallow crank, and a swim jig with a Laporte poured craw trailer. Water temps were right around 53-55. Went up and down north and south shorelines, but didn't get hardly any hits. I caught a little rock bass on the chatterbait, neighbor caught one on a texas rigged curly tail grub. Caught a keeper on the North side near the US-23 bridge. 14", but it still counts! My first bass on a jig and the trailer was a gift from Laporte so double bonus. We were out there for a good 2-3 hours, but since it was so slow and the temp was going down, we headed back. Not a bad way to spend a Sunday afternoon.
