bassinman#1 - I have you down as a question mark because you mentioned your wife and I wasn't sure if you meant you were bringing a boat or not, and if you expected to fish with your wife.
Since a couple of you mentioned this - I sure don't have a problem with it as long was we still have enough boats for the nonboaters. I'd like as much participation as possible from members.
Do the rest of you have a problem with a couple of the members bringing and fishing with their wives/significant other (only - not buddies/friends/fishing partners)? I want to be fair, but this is mostly for fun and to meet-and-greet. As long as none of the rest of you switch over, we'll be okay boat-wise (my wife isn't getting up that early this time of year to sit in the boat all day ;D).
One other thing, I do have to stick to forum members only being eligible to fish, so if you bring a wife/significant other, she/he has to be a member on the forum. It doesn't matter if they may not be on here posting or anything. Just need to be fair with some guidelines that fit the event. Thanks and let me know what everyone thinks.
I don't hae a problem with anybody fishing with anybody.
The more the merrier.
I have no problem with couples fishing together.
what ever floats your boats....i have no problem w/either.
i like to hear the details on game plan, time & all as i figure i got maybe a 2 1/2-3 hr drive come saturday morning from home. can't get-a-way on friday..
We'll start fishing at 8 AM from the MDNR ramp on the Tobacco Arm. I'll announce partners on here Tuesday night for those going so far so maybe you can make other plans. No matter what, boaters and partners can meet at the ramp before we launch at 8 AM.
I'll PM my cell phone number to everyone who is fishing so people have a number to call in the morning.
Bleh, the woman wants to go so if there's enough boaters I'll have to take the wife with me. If not, I'll leave her sit in the tent!! Then I'll promptly set the tent up in our back yard when I get home and move my stuff out into it.
B
P.S. Is that the ramp off Dondas Rd. ?
yeah, Dundas is the first road on the left after you go over the bridge on m-30 near strykers.
Stackenem is out due to proir commitments by my wife.
Sorry to hear you can't make it stackenem.
That does mean bshaner can fish with his wife now (and won't have to move into the tent permanently).
Thanks for doing that for me Stack. As per our arrangement the check is in the mail. Please dont cash it for a couple of weeks. :o :P
DJ,
I will get her to sign up on the boards. After the tournament I will then change the password to her account. I think it will be best for all involved. ;D

I'm thinking about setting up some kind of spouse-PHP-redirection Web site - we don't really want them to know exactly what we are up to all the time...
Hey fellas, getting anxious to get out there. Just wondering who was the winner of the DK Open last year??
-Kid
Revtro and the 'Wags' half of MadWags (split personality although actually two people) were the first DK Open Champs in 2005.
I have an idea about a page I'm going to set up to honor all winners including the first on my todo list. I was remiss in making it a lasting, longterm title not to be forgotten.
Who will win this year?? I'm going to put my money on the sly VinceR... (I haven't been on Wixom in several years...)
Congratulations guys, hey Dan maybe you can make taht prediction into a contest? Maybe another guess of winning weight? All up to you
-Kid
And the jinx is on, again. Gee, thanks.
Actually, with all the folks who voted to go to Wixom, I think that there are much better candidates for this years "favorite".? ;)
See - you are sly. You caught on to me immediately. A lot of the 'locals' aren't fishing. Must be the big guns from the SE scared 'em off.
Bshaner, that was no problem just remember this when your wife kicks your butt in the tx. You probaly should let her win as a tent gets cold in the winter.
I'm all for letting people bring their wives. It's just a fun event.
I will not be able to make it to the DK Open this year. My grandmother passed away and her funeral is Saturday. Hope everyone has fun, and for godsakes, take some pictures and post them.
PB himself :-\'
Poorboy, I'm sorry about your grandmother.
Thanks. I hadnt spoken to her for quite some time. It was my dads mother and we are not very close with his side of the family. But she was a big influence in my life. She had a very long life and made the most of every minute of it.
PB himself :-\'
Sorry to hear that. We'll miss you and be thinking about you.
Got room for another nonboater if someone knows anyone who might want to fish.
Sorry to hear that PB, my grandfather passed four years ago today. Seems like it was only yesterday, time has gone by so fast without him.
PS: Hey Dan have you made the pairings yet? Just wondering so i can get in touch with my boater.
On a lighter note if I get to choose someone to win even though the mean boss is making me work so I can't come :( I'm still pouting! My pick is.....drum roll....not being partial or anything here either.....josh!!!! But I have my reason for picking him and they are valid and good reasons too, not just because he's cute and charming....

See the updated first post of this thread.
I love the (shanersbetterhalf) thats great.
What can you do.... :P
On an unrelated topic, Dan how do I change a password on an account if I was never privy to the original pw???
B
I have to do that upon request (and depending on circumstances...?)
I'll just run a key logger on my home computer ;D 8)

Nice!!! I'll be sure sure to be the cute and charming part... catching fish???? We'll see what happens.
I hope my partner likes snapping jigging spoons in two feet of water.
I also like to carolina rig moss bosses in 30 FOW.
I'm all geared up!!! I've been watching Bill Dance re-runs all week.? ;)
joshimoto son ;D
If you have a T hat - I may have to switch my vote to you...? (but I do like jinxing VinceR ;D)

I'll buy him one. ;)
What do you mean cute and charming doesn't catch fish? And you have been catching fish for a long time with that carolina rigged moss boss, you have told me about it for years.....
I just know all of you are going to have so much fun and I will be sitting here at work missing it. I'm didn't want to addmit it but I'm also kicking myself for not going with my husband to the up bear hunting just because I was be stuborn. Ohhh seems I just couldn't win this weekend.
Hey guys and gals, does anyone have a map to get to the launch? I'd appreciate it.
-Kid
from someone around that area, what is the current weather report?
weather here (my area - canton SE of state) calling for saturday of rain & storms. i will check weather website, but we all know weather can change in a minute around here. thanks.....
Ya, I'm seeing forecasts for rain and T-Storms as well. Supposed to be pretty windy. 73 degrees is the temp forecast. It will be interesting. Just hope the woman has rain gear. I know I do, she'll have to fend for herself.
B
If she doesn't you will get wet.LOL
local forecast this morning is rain today thunderstorms tonight; tomorow thunderstorms in the afternoon winds 10-15 overnight low is 61, so at least we shouldn't have fog to deal with. supposed to be overcast all day.

Nice the only problem is i am coming from my cottage which is about 25 minutes away, is the ramp off of Dundas??
The ramp is on Dundas, about 1/2 to 3/4 mile up from M-30.
looks like wet stuff, but hope the worst of it stays south of us.
will be on the road by 4:15 in the a.m. ETA by 7:15 if no problems on way up. no traffic woes at that time.
i've made effort to contact my partner - sensaisteve u out there?
will check posts before i leave if theres a change. guess to see all then.
