After searching on how to get ChampioN logo put on a new tournment jersey I found a thread on a different site I use to belong to. He got PE to give him permission to use the champ logo on a shirt rather eaisly. I followed his instructions , emailed PE for permission. Of course they denied me . I even was using their vendor to do the work. I understand they don't make the champ line anymore, but there are still tons of us out there that own, buy and want champs. Now there is no way to get exactly what we want in apperal it seems. Kinda stupid if ya ask me. >:(
Probably a contract legal issue for them against giving permission now maybe?
If ya go to the BBC boards/champ forum they gave others permission with no issues. It just irks me that they own the champ name and I was using their jersey vendor. Now I have to find someone around here that can get the kind of jersey I want and do it anyhows. It's just a word ya know . I'm just not seeing the issue other than the articles I have read of the owner not really likeing the champ line. Now if those are true or not I'm not sure , but it would seem so .
I don't know anything about all you're talking about? Have other people recently got permission? Do they have connections or something?
Na if ya go to the BBC boards / Champ forum . They gave it out to people. No connections I could see. He gave spicific instructions and the email PE sent him to confirm that a shirt vendor coudl use the champ logo .
im just venting to people that would understand what the hell im talkign about LOL
Is everyone else from the South?!? Grasping at straws here... ;D
I imagine there must be other alternatives somewhere.
Hell for me , everyone is south of me LOL.
I put out some emails to various places to see if they would print it without using a capital N and using a lower case N , so I'm not breaking any logo/legal issue. I also shot an email to the parent company Platinum Equity to see what they have to say on the matter.
Hey you were sponsered by Ranger wern't ya. You could pull a favor or 2 for me since I'm the coolest guy ya met since sliced bread :D :D :D :D
Not trying to be a jerk but why would you want to wear a Logo of a company that seems to be giving you a hard time about puting the logo on your Jersey...What do you have to gain???
I spent a few years in another sport playing around with sponsors so i am a little tempered on the whole issue but if you are not being paid or a club that you belong to isn't reaping a benefit from company "A" I see no sense in beating your head against the wall trying to wear their Logo...
Champions are great boats and i am a big fan but the heck with it...Put someone's name on your jersey that helps you get a competitive advantage, helps your club out or whatever..... ;)
While I agree with some of your sentiment, I'm not sure, but I'm guessing in this case, it isn't a sponsorship issue, but nostalgia with his good ole Champion TheFishinPollock is interested in. There are members on here that don't tournament or who aren't interested in being a sponsored pro.
I'm glad we have a good mix of anglers here. Lots of good advice and opinions with different goals and aspirations. We do all have one DEFINITE THING in common! We all like to chase after those crafty bass!!! ;D
Dan hit it on the head of the nail. I just love Champs and would only own 1 other brand of boat . A Phenoix, but dont have 60 K for one. I'ved owned this boat since it was built in '86 . It's all a nostalgia issue for me.
Heck no one would pay me to fish :D Some of these guys have seen why too :D :D
You might have a shot at the first pro duck angler staff spot though!
I'm never gonan live that down am I ? :D
Nope

86 Champs were great boats....Good luck...Hopefully you get it worked out....
I own a 1993 Champion and the best part about it is that it's paid for. All that is needed is routine maintenance and anything that is in need of repair when it breaks. Great boat and it still performs as it should.
I just have one question as to why you would use the logo to advertise a boat that is not made anymore?? I have a couple of shirts that have the logo from back in the day when they were manufactured, however, any new jerseys I get don't have a Champion logo at all. If I ever decide to get a new boat, I would get either a Stratos or a Triton in the multi-species model. The Ranger multi-species i would also consider.
BD. ;D

Bass Cat bought Yar Craft and have made a few changes to their all species rig....I have seen pictures, they look great and with the Bass Cat service how can you go wrong...
A guy in our club has a Champion all species rig, that is a really nice boat....
Nostalgia is a big thing for some people. Nothing wrong with that.
Didn't mean to cause a stir here. Sorry bout that . Was just venting some frustration to people that would understand the love of a certain type of boat .

Back in the day...when I did alot more walleye fishing, I drove up to Torch Lake Marina to test drive a Yar Craft, and wow what a boat. They were well built and had some pretty wild innovations. I drove an 18 footer with a 125 Tiller steer, which is only possible thanks to electronic steering.
That should be an awsome combination...Yar Craft and Bass Cat!
My folks almost bought that place back in the 90's when it was for sale. Wish they would have. They do a tonnnnnnn of business.
I would consider a Bass Cat. They do make nice rigs.

Sometimes when you vent, the steam heats up other people... Sometimes, it's hard not to vent. But fishing season is just about upon us. So we will all feel much better very soon! :D
I'll feel better right up to when I miss that first hit! :D :D
Well... the good news is... there will be another hit.
