Hey,
I need a new depth finder for the bow of my boat, I'm thinking about getting color. It's mounted in the bow and the screen points straight up to the sun. I've heard complaints about not being able to see color screens in the sun. Anyone have any expericence with this?
Thanks,Matt
I have the Lowerance 332c and LOVE it. It is mounted on a ram system but have not had any problems seeing it in full sunshine.
Ditto on the LMS 334 iGPS!!!
The 334c is great unless you want to network the bow with the console unit. The units will now or soon be able to enter waypoints, on either one and will register on both. It's part of the NEMA 2000 menu. The problem with the 334 is that the built in antenna will only work for that unit ( could have (2) 334's). If you go with 332's and network them you will only need to order one with the antenna. The networked antenna will provide signal to both units. You can save some money that way. ;D

I just put an Eagle 320C on the bow and I have not had any problems seeing the screen. Polarized glasses make the screen look funny on my cell phone but the screen on the 320C is clear even in direct sunlight. I looked at this and the Lowrance X67C and the Eagle has a little but brighter screen.
I have heard nothing but good stuff about the 334 Lowrance

Matt:
My 332 is awesome - nothing but good things so far. Mine is also mounted directly in the bow trim panel , and no issues seeing the screen clearly thru polarized lenses in direct sunlight. I think this was an issue early on in the development, and they got the bugs worked out.

Just a reminder, if you are a TBF federation member, you can get a discount on units from Lowrance.
You might want to compare prices from the sale/large places to the federation discount price to see which one is a better deal.
TBF federation members, to use the federation discount, contact TBF of Michigan president Dennis Beltz and tell him which unit(s) you want, and he'll get the price for you. The president is the only one allowed to 'hold' the prices contractually. Contact Dennis at: 586-286-3523 or dbeltz4@hotmail.com
State team members get an even better discount - don't forget the perks!
And a favor, if you end up ordering a Lowrance online from Bass Pro Shops, or BoatersWorld.com (see the pricing of the 332c on my Affiliates (http://www.greatlakesbass.com/store/affiliates.html#bw) page - $649.99 with no shipping), please click on my affiliate links to order (to the right or on the Affiliates page (http://www.greatlakesbass.com/store/affiliates.html)). I'd greatly appreciate it!
Federation Nation Members get a discount at well, at least we do in MN
Yes it is true - Lowrance says they are offering discounts to both federations. Same deal I believe, if you are a federation nation member, you have to contact that president.
