Title: Major League Fishing.....
Post by: Wolverines on March 26, 2012, 08:09:53 AM
Anybody see that show on Outdoor channel yet?  It's on right now...very cool show.  They're fishing Amistad.  All are fishing out of 18' boats and there's no limit!  They weigh  the fish on a boga grip and a marshal posts it for all the other anglers to see.

I watched it all on the web and I really enjoyed the format. I think the idea of knowing where you stand through out the day puts a lot of pressure on the guys and they really feel it. They also know enough about how their competitors fish to know what patterns or tactics are working when they here a guy start to get on fire, you see there minds spinning and they adjust to it.

Its on the outdoor channel?  I paid 20 or 30 bucks to watch them online.  Seemed like a great price since every episode was 3 hours long.

I noticed the pros using a lot of terms I don't know such as drain. Does anyone know if there is an encyclopedia of these different terms lol.

The Internet has some: Search drain bass fishing

You could even find some videos on the subject here (http://www.greatlakesbass.com/vid/list.php?q=drain+bass+fishing&filter=on).

Or... if you have a weird, Don Wirth sense of humor, some 'terms' are defined here (http://www.greatlakesbass.com/fishing/tourndic.htm).

I was young and thought I was a funny guy.
