I just added a new product to the GreatLakesBass.com online store - The Angler's Genie (http://www.greatlakesbass.com/store/glbstore3.html#glbag1) - a complete tournament/bass fishing management software package that has every thing you could want including a complete fishing log, GPS waypoint management including export and import from and to common GPS units, expense tracking, tournament tracking including a calendar with tasking, like I say, pretty much everything you could want or need in an easy to use software package.
I've been trying it out for a while. You can add lakes and lures and much more for your detailed fish logs. You can import and export Lowrance GPS .usr files. You can export GPS waypoints to text. You can attach your GPS waypoints to specific water bodies to organize them. You can track your tournaments, tasks and fishing trips. You can do quite a bit with your spending and expenses.
The Angler's Genie is programmed by a bass tournament angler and Business Technology Integration right here in Michigan. Check it out on the store at: http://www.greatlakesbass.com/store/glbstore3.html#glbag1

Okay guys, lets here about this thing. I know Dan has given at least two of these away and I am very curious to see how it works, any reports?
The Angler's Genie does the following:
Most importantly the software tracks all of your fishing data in one easy to use screen. With it you can track:
- Waypoints tied to a specific logbook entry as an individual location or series of organized waypoints
- Tournament information tied to specific tournament, notes about trip, and general area of interest
- Species caught
- Life stage
- Quantity, Size and Weight
- Store a picture of the catch for later review
- Structure type and Vegetation type, depth and size
- Sky conditions, wind and direction, season, temperature and barometric pressure
- Specific lure, line type and size
- Fishing style and various attributes
- Location, pH, temp, depth, bottom composition, current, level, color and clarity as well as draw-down information for reservoirs.
Besides the general fishing log information, The Angler's Genie has various utilities to benefit the serious fisherman.

- convert all waypoints to text file for use with whatever program you choose (won't be necessary because Genie already does it all ;) )

Shall I go on?
Team houston won one copy and I think ? Hooksetter got the other one. I'll have to check with them to see what they think.
I have plans to post some screen shots - hopefully this weekend in the store - I'm woefully behind and Michigan TBF stuff if awaiting...
I've been using it some this year. I had the most fun with attaching GPS waypoints to some lakes, importing them from my Lowrance .usr files and then exporting some back out to my Lowrance units.
I believe Team houston is in the middle of some computer woes and may not be able to install his copy yet. I'll have to check on the other winner. Jeez, first I have to look at the DK Open thread to remember who won it. Only 44 and the memory is already going...
as soon as i get some extra cash, i will buy it and check it out. And i will give a full report. I dont think it will work with my electronics tho, as far as downloading waypoints from the computer to the actual gps. My stuff is old and they have no cards or ways to hook up cables or whatever, so i will use grant and kevs boat as guinea pigs.
PB himself :-\'
PB - You're right. You have to be able to get the information to the computer (or vice versa) before it can be managed by The Angler's Genie.
Newer units are very easy with the SD type cards. I am a Lowrance guy so that is what I have tested with mostly, but I have verified with new Garmin and Humminbird units and it works just fine.
Genie
I have not checked into The Anglers Genie yet but I will do so some time this winter and I will post a report when I do. Based on the info on the cover and the summary posted by Genie, I'm already certain it will help me.
There will be a new feature added soon that will allow for tracking maintenance, repairs, insurance numbers, $ values, purchase $ values, where purchased, receipts, photos, etc.?
It will allow the user to get a handle on inventory and $ value for anything worth tracking - like boats, rods/reels, etc.? You could also use it for your individual baits as well if needed.
Anyway, it should be done in time for the holidays.
And for all you hard-core "techies" out there, a new feature is currently being tested to allow you to use your Angler's Genie information on your PDA. You will be able to take the information from your computer and take it with you to the water/store/seminar/etc. You will even be able to make changes on your PDA and bring them back to your computer without re-typing. Makes it real simple to track expenses, check tournament dates and look up notes on waypoints in real-time.
Feedback, questions, and suggestions are always welcome!
