Title: Any Kzoo guys??
Post by: TCook on March 08, 2012, 09:08:10 PM
Any boaters in the kalamazoo area on here? I just moved here and looking to get into some local tournaments or someone to fish with during the week. What lakes get the action around here and what tournaments (weekends and weeknighters) get the most boats? I know gun and gull are popular but not much else.

Lots of Kalamazoo area anglers visit the site. They are probably out fishing or working right now.

I had to lean into the wind the other day just to pump some overpriced gas into my little car! There's been a good number of Kalamazoo area sign ups over the last 6 months or so. Hopefully I can get them more active on the site and you'll get some feedback too.

Yes overpriced gas which is predicted to hit $5 a gallon this summer and why I want to do the majority of my fishing this year local. Even in the wind soon we will all be in the bent over position when filling up LOL.

Just so you know, Tim's a great guy to have fishing with you.  I've been on a number of trips with him.  He's very knowledgeable and a good stick.  He's also very conscious of how he treats your equipment and rig.
Is that how you wanted me to say that Tim????  LMAO  Just kidding  !!!!  I'd fish with Tim any day of the week and twice on Sunday.

Hey kzoo guy here.  Sorry I have a partner but I can offer you some info.  For tournaments go nbaa division 17 gets the most boats for a weeknight, we average about 24 boats.  If your looking for a tournament that doesn't have a national championship and has better payouts then you'll want to look at Double L bait and tackle weeknight tourny.  For the weekend tourny's go we don't have any nbaa ones because we have a 100 percent payback one on Sunday mornings and I looking at starting a one on one 100 percent payback on Saturday mornings.  I'll let you know the schedule for Sat and Sun when I get them and the nbaa one you can look up on the web site.  For lakes Austin and Gull are about the best in our county and they also get fished the hardest but all the others are good too but Barton lake is about the worst.  Hope I helped.  Keep checking your post and if I here anybody looking for a partner and when I get a schedule for those weekend tournys.

Hey Tcook. I'm a GR guy but I was planning on fishing the k-zoo area a little bit this year. I'm descent on gun, but I know Gull very well. I was actually thinking about trying Lake Allegan this year and some of the southern ports of Lake Michigan...I should have a couple open days a week this spring/summer. Maybe we could figure out some of these lakes together...pm me and we could figure something out.

Stop into D&R sports and talk to Miles Hanley he is a Director for NBAA.  He should be able to tell  you whats in your area to fish.
