Title: 14lb Bass ?
Post by: cwinsiii on August 10, 2006, 08:42:12 PM
I thought this was funny, it seems a couple proud anglers contacted a Conservation officer at home to come check the record 14lb Bass. The Conservation officer went to the location and identified the wopper as a 14-pound sheepshead.

That came from the new issue of the Michigan Outdoor News cuffs and collars section.

That is pretty funny! I remember a guy asking me to identify his 'trophy musky' out of Lobdell/Bennett Lakes (channel in between).

I could tell right away that he was a little leery in showing it to anyone because he apparently knew his 'luck' enough to know something was fishy.

He hoists up the trophy on his stringer... I quietly and sadly inform him, trying to leave him some dignity, that it is not a musky, but a lowly and ancient bowfin. I was laughing pretty good inside though...;D
