I'm leaving Wednesday morning for Shreveport/Bossier City for the Classic festivities. Looks like great weather, low 70s and high sixties. Suppose to be clear, but... I'll be taking a ton of pictures and blogging about the trip. Should be fun. Any other GLBers going?? Also just sent my official registration in for Marshaling the Okeechobee and Mystery Lake Elite Series contests. Have my plane reservations for Florida and am really looking forward to that. I have three days confirmed. The fourth day has been one I've been good at snagging because I learned how to play the game. Now, however, they changed the way they select the final day Marshals and made it a blind draw, which they will do during the Wednesday registration. Oh well, maybe I'll get lucky.
13 hrs. in the countdown until we head to Shreveport/Bossier City. First time to a Classic for me. I'll have my first Classic blog up on my teardropbass.com daily blog Thursday night. If I don't run out of gas each day, I should have pictures and an article up each day.
Have fun Dan! I'm sure I'm not the only one who's insanely jealous!
Drove through the night (19 hours) and finally made it to Shreveport this morning about 6:00 a.m. Couldn't check in till noon so we drove to the launch site, convention center, and the arena where they will way. 83 degrees here, sunny, windy. Cold front supposedly moving through tonight dropping temps. The Red looks muddy and nasty. Saw, Ike, Evers, Chapman, Faircloth, and Shyrock at the ramp at dawn working on their boats. No fishing today, Media day.
Have fun Dan. Should be a riot down there.
After seeing all the stumps they are running into and over, part of me is glad I'm not in a boat with any of them right now! Got stuck last year on a mud flat with Ryan Said. I wonder if it is just normal for these guys to spend part of their time at every Classic stuck on something?!?
What a blast. Day Two of the trip, Day One of the Classic. Long days, no sleep, wouldn't change it for the world. Wish you were here. More pictures on my teardropbass.com blog.
