I had the privilege of watching Greg Mangus put a hurting on some largemouth December 3. I can say with confidence now: he is as good as advertised.
I got this privilege because he participated in my attempt to mimic the Day on the Lake series featured in Bassmaster Magazine. I like reading what the pros do, but always thought it would be even more helpful to see how a local angler dissects a body of water. He is first in the series. I hope you all enjoy! Something else he should be given credit for.....When he worked at Lunkers in Edwardsburg it seemed like the Bass fishing knowledge, and inventory was 100x what it is today.
Personable and knowledgeable staff isn't their high point IMO.
Nice write up!! Day on the Lake is my favorite too.
Great article! Thanks for sharing. Day on the Lake is my favorite as well.
If you like the "Day on the Lake" articles, try to catch the show "Lost Lake" on the WFN. I've learned a few things watching that show too.
As for Greg... anyone who had any doubt that he was "all that" hasn't been fishing in Michigan/Indiana very long! LOL!! Super nice guy, and you can thank him for the Erie Darter too. Oh, and he now owns C-Flash crank baits.
Maybe owning the baits will keep him more busy?!? ;D
(The C-Flash website is hosted by AnglerHosting.com (http://www.anglerhosting.com/) BTW)
I'm glad so many liked it. To say the least, It was fun to do.
Mangus is now doing all of the work for C Flash. Everything from doing the work on the lathe to packaging is done by him in his home. He is becoming a busy guy. If you meet up with him, don't ask him about the taxes he has to pay! Or on second thought, if you want to be entertained for 30 minutes, go ahead and ask him. ;D
Actually, if you want to be entertained, tell him you're a Democrat! LOL!!! And I guarantee it'll be longer than 30 minutes!
A bass boat is a terrible place to discuss politics!!
great read, thanks for the post.
