Title: Thanksgiving Weekend
Post by: GPaquette on November 27, 2011, 08:05:25 PM
Was up north for Thanksgiving near the Alpena area, got to do a little fishing. Water was 38 degrees and they were biting! Caught over 100 smallies in a little over 12 hours of fishing. Many were over 3 and 4 pounds. This time of year if you find one fish, chances are there's many with 'em.
Today I got out on Lake Erie to find it was complete mud. Had to run around to find some clear water but when I did they were there. Caught 25-30 largemouth on primarily rattle traps, nothing bigger than 3 pounds. Water was 49 degrees. Looks like the weather is 2-3 weeks behind last year.

Sounds like you got spoiled! How did you catch the smallies? How deep?

Smallies came on a green pumpkin tube dead sticked. 13-18 foot.
