Title: LSC 7-8-06
Post by: Hooksetter on July 11, 2006, 08:31:14 PM
Got in to em real good on Saturday. Fished the mile roads from 6:15 am to 1:00 pm, 4 anglers in two boats. At one point we had a quadruple header with the smallest being 3.2lbs. and the biggest being 4.4lbs.

All told we caught 7 over 4 lbs. and my son-in-law lost one at the boat that we estimated was over 5lbs. It was the blackest smallie I have ever seen! I estimate we caught 40-50 smallies with about 15 over 3 lbs. We were in 10-14 fow.

Most of the fish came on an Xtreme Bass Tackle Canadian Mist tube. We also caught em on a Rapala DT6 crankbait in Fire Tiger and a Lucky Craft Staysee 90 sp in clown pattern.

Great day. did you get them over a wide area or in a specific area?

Most of the fish were caught in 2 very specific spots. A few were caught in between the spots. I think the spot where we caught most of the fish was a "spot on a spot", they were there in good numbers and size. I've had days on St. Clair that I've caught more fish but not the size that we were catching that day. It was the kind of day that you picture in your mind while you are driving there, but usually don"t have.
