Caught these before the wind blew us off the lake today. Sustained 20-25 mph wind. Made holding a spot or fishing in a straight line all but impossible.
Give and take this time of year, but I think it is worth it often. Keep rubbing it in!
I had thoughts of being out there as well, but my starting battery took a dump. Just bought it this year and took it back on Saturday. Waiting to hear what they are going to do about it.
I went out myself yesterday and caught 1 LM around 2lbs and a few others that where small but that don't compare to your day nice fish would love to make it back up there before the hard water comes around.
Nice fish. I tried Muskegon on Saturday, had no luck. Going to try White tomorrow morning, assuming the weather guesser guy is wrong. 50, 50 chance!
I got one 3 1/2 # SM on Saturday on Arcadia. Fished for about 3 hours on Sunday and took a beating from the wind with no fish to show. The current changes in the channel were wicked and with only a 12V 55#'s of thrust electric motor I was getting thrown around pretty good. Seemed like the lake was turning over, lots of weeds and murky water even in protected areas. Water temp was 44.
The lake looks angry Mike!!! Was that boat in the background, bass fishing also???
The lake wasn't just angry Jeff... it was down right pis sed off!!
And yes, they were bass fishing. I know the guys and they didn't stay long. Don't blame them!
I was that guy, we tried a few places out of the wind but couldn't get them, we did catch a few 4's before the wind picked up. Will be back again this weekend, providing the wind stays down.
We're gonna try to get back up that way on Sunday.
If you do Mike call me. My Alabama brother-in-law and his side kick from Texas are coming up to the cabin on Saturday and we are going to be driving around showing them the sites. We could bring you a burger on the water and say howdy.
We have a charter booked on the Manistee River for Monday to catch some steelhead. Should be fun. I'm at the cabin now typing and watching for deer and other critters.
