today is a sad sad day. Changed LU lube, washed it , emptied it , ran stable in the motor , pulled the lineand ran it dry and tomorrow the cover goes on for the year :'(
It would be
I myself think the best fishing is yet to come this year
I did put the Bass gear away
But were just starting the fall Walleye season
Hitting Huron, Ohio this weekend for the big girls. Woooooooo
What I site to see, the planner boards dragged under like bobbers
Too early to put it away, the water isn't hard yet!
Shrink wrapped the Ranger yesterday and took it to storage for the winter. :'( Packing to go to Florida tomorrow and think my good sunglasses are still in the boat. Oh well guess I will have to get another pair. Only 5 months till spring. :'( :'(
I too covered the boat up for the winter. Those of us who don't have a garage to pull it into have to put her up when she's good and dry inside. Yesterday was such a day.
I"m not done fishing. But, I'll have to rely on the kindness of friends who can afford to wait awhile before winterizing.
I shall put the old girl up for the winter tomorrow. I've already removed all her gear...and will clean, deodorize and winterize tomorrow (Friday). I still have my rods and reels and a travel bag at the ready though...just in case an other Indian Summer-like weekend turns up!
That terrible deed is in my plans for Sunday or Monday. I leave Tuesday for a long work trip and I think it will be too late if I don't do it now. I really need a heated garage, or better yet a place down South for the winter.
its winterized but not in the garage yet. Going to get out one last time next weekend. Was hoping this sunday but too much stuff going one. So as long as the snow isnt deep or its too cold I will have one more trip.
Man, the blaid bait bite is just starting!!! What are you guys doing? ???
Sad to say I too am putting the boat up today. 5 months is a long time! Guess it is that time to clean up my tackle box and look for new lures. Anyone have an extra Alabama Rig? lol
Gotta get it ready tonight after work. Bringing it to storage on Sat. I waited until turkey day last year. But I need the garage space a little earlier this year. >:(
Winterizing this weekend. Haven't fished since I got home from the NY Bassmaster. Emptied out the boat the following weekend. Just haven't had any interest. Maybe that will change before spring.
Fishing Sunday for sure... Monday if the weather holds. The brown bass are really hitting right now and show no signs of stopping. Lucky for me I store my boat in my garage... so I can get at it any time I want... winterize shminterize... if there's no ice I'm fishing!!
Anyone want to head up to Pentwater Monday?? There's fish to be caught for sure!!

Amen! I actually had my first good fall blade bait day last week on, of all places... the Grand River in Lansing! I know... I was surprised too! Two days ago, we caught a bunch of little smallies with a few keepers and today (Friday) I had my annual fall Lake Erie largemouth trip with Mike Nolan, and we whacked 'em pretty good! No blades but who doesn't love the feeling of leaning back into largemouth bass with shoulders on a pitched creature bait?!? That singing line is music to my ears!! Some fishing reports, pictures and video to come and I'm not close to quitting yet!
Though I am taking tomorrow 'off' to get caught back up (been a while since I fished 2 days in 1 week) and watch my Michigan Wolverines beat some hawkeyes! GO BLUE!
Sorry for some of you. I really am! I'd take you all fishing but my boat isn't traveling far right now and I do have to do some of that web work! I sure did enjoy looking up today to see two mature bald eagles circling over our heads! That's the kind of stuff that keep me going on the days in between fishing trips! Thanks Mike!!
