Post by: jigmaster on July 09, 2006, 03:33:42 PM
Good afternoon, all

Am new here.....have lurked for awhile......   8)

Am going north to Walhalla in August, staying on Long Lake there.....am looking for a topo map of the lake.......any ideas?       I found one on MDNR site, but it is not very detailed...was looking for something a bit better....any input is appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Welcome!
Are you talking about just north of 10 and west of Branch? If so, I've never seen much of a map at all but there's some brutes in there. Try the sharp drops on the east side......and maybe run up to Gun or Ford also.
Good luck!

It's been a while since I fished it, but I THINK I remember sand drops on the west side and sharp breaks with weeds on the break to the east side. Seems like the water was pretty clear.
We always caught our fish on the east side, about in the middle of the lake. Seems like I remember the "ramp" was kinda interesting too. West side to the north I think.

Gun.....Ford.....(Round Lake has more mosquitoes per sqare inch than anywhere on the planet)

Good Luck!

Good morning....leaving for Walhalla in a few days......getting the tacklebox together   :)

There is a small lake just north called "Gooseneck lake"......not very developed, tough to access, and I heard that it has some pigs in it, too......am planning to check that out, for sure

Will post results when I get home

any other words of advice for Long Lake in the summer?

thanks in advance
