Don and his partner won the Lake Drive Classic tourney held on Burt/Mullet Friday and Saturday. Don and his partner (who's name totally escapes me at the moment!!) weighed in over 44 lbs for the two day event.
I was also told that one team weighed in a 7 lb 3 oz smallie for big bass. Now THAT is a pig!!!
Sounds like that lake produces alot of bass.I was gonna rent a cottage there this year but ended up going to a smaller lake in cadillac (family vacation). I thought it would be a hard lake to fish since it was so big.Any tips in case I go next year? Another thing I was'nt sure about is whether it was deep enough to dock the boat or if I would have to moor it? Any feed back on that?

and on Facebook, Twitter, several other places. Pictures maybe today because it looks like I received some.
Congrats Don! You are on fire. 1 on 1, lake drive, and dont forget the best guess at 2000 members on GLB. :D
He sounded more excited about winning the 2000th member contest to me!!
Thanks everyone, looks like I should go buy a lottery ticket.
I think I won a truck for the 2000th member contest. At least thats what I heard.
That could be arranged! You won't even need a license to drive it!
Pictures of the prize boat, fish and plaques now added to the forum post on Jeff and Don's impressive win - a 4.96 pounds average per fish!

I have only been on Burt. The first time last fall. Did pretty well. Fished with GLB member Tcook and we had about 24 pounds for our five best. Advice I can give to you, from what I've heard and read, is you need to go in the spring or fall. I guess the smallies are hard to target in the summer months. Look for rock/gravel areas and or weeds.
