Title: Parker poised to be first female in Elites
Post by: Dan on September 13, 2011, 03:36:36 PM
Janet Parker sits second in points after the second Central Open. If she finishes in the top 5 she will be asked to fish the Elite Series which she says she will definitely do, becoming the first woman to do that. It should bring more interest to the tour, and I would bet that BASS is rooting for her.
She figures she has to finish in the Top 50 in the next Central Open on Oneida.
Fishing is a sport that can provide a venue for young and old, guys and gals. Rather unique to have mixed gender in major athletic competitions. Good luck Janet!

Fresh faces always infuse some new enthusiasm into competitive sports. Bass tournament fishing could use this. Many new stories possible if she makes it.
