Hi All,
I'm New to the site, but have been reading forums alot this year. The peeps here have improved my fishing and I thank you all ! I have the good fourtune of living 15 Min's from LK St. Clair. It is pure fishing pleasure !!! All serious fishermen must experience this lake once.
I'm planning a two day trip for two of my friends. They want to go I somewhere in upper MI (anything north of Flint). My question is where ? We looking for something that quite, in the woods, and away from the city. Not looking for anyones secret place. Just want to show my NC friends what we have in the Great State of MI !! Oh Yes, We will be checking out St. Clair before they leave.

When are you going? Last weekend I fished Walloon and Paradise, both way up north. I do not suggest going to either of those right now because the fishing was really tough. I caught only a few fish all weekend and really had to work for them. If it's later in the fall then that changes things.
In two weeks
Thanks for joining the site. If you're going during the week, maybe Wixom Lake in Edenville? Running up either arm - carefully if you don't know the channel - can get you into woodsy type fishing on a reservoir with largemouth and smallmouth bass.
A bigger lake with mostly smallmouth bass - maybe Hubbard Lake? Usually pretty quiet outside of the holiday weekends.
If you want to go farther, maybe Crooked and Pickerel up near Petoskey? They can be tough later in the day sometimes.
There are lots of little lakes up North that can be good but I haven't checked very many of them the past few years. I can't really recommend one that is good for sure this time of year. Some are really good at times and some are terrible. Many of the smaller lakes South of Traverse City can be pretty good.
Fletchers Pond is great also. Or, if you stay near hale, long lake, mio area you can hit about 60 lakes within a half hours drive.

Fletchers pond. Big pike and bass shallow water cover
It's a 7 mike forest that someone decided to put a little water in and call it a pond.
Thx for your responses guys !!
