I shot this about two summers ago. I didn't mention the lake and have been asked probably 50 times or so. I would mention it but I don't want to draw undo attention to a fragile fishery. There are a lot of great lakes up North. I usually just go from lake to lake to lake to lake and find them. The best ones are those with crummy ramps, no fishing pressure, off the beaten path, and heavy weed cover. We were there on a Saturday in August and there wasn't another boat on the lake the entire day or week for that matter. I think the real pleasure in lakes like this is the exploring and finding them. If anyone wants to find some new ones let me know. I plan to go looking the first weekend of October.

I tried that on a 'new' lake in June but the ramp was too crummy to risk my gas-hog F350 dually on. Pretty sure I would have 'stayed' on that ramp. One of these days I have to get back to a 4-wheel drive so I can be more adventurous again. And maybe a smaller boat or even kayak or something for the ramps (or no ramp) that just aren't doable with big Great Lakes Ranger Bass Boat! Looked like fun!

Sorry to set you up for another 50 questions! I think, despite the smallmouth fever prevalent now in Michigan, many anglers (miss) still like a good ole hog largemouth bite! ;D
