Hi everyone, we are Canadians who just moved from Lake Simcoe to an awesome bass lake called Lake Weslemkoon, 30 minutes from the town of Bancroft. We used to run an ice fishing business on Simcoe and a small B&B. We just bought a little cabin resort on Lake Weslemkoon. When we were looking for a place, we were told that this lake is one of the top 10 bass lakes in Canada. You always hear things like that so we reserved judgement. I can tell you that the month we have been here, we have been out fishing a lot. What they are saying about the lake is true. We have not yet gone out without catching bass! This lake is 61 miles in perimeter and is full of hidden inlets, coves, and tons of structure. There seems to be little major predators to the bass as there is no pike, and muskie seem to be something that is rarely caught. The lake does have a population of Lake Trout though, and perch. There is a bass tournament on this lake on July 17. You can check it out on the Bancroft Bass Tournament web site. A group of 20 guys who were here in last weekend. They run their own little bass tourney once per year. The winners fish was 4.7 lbs. They were all catch and release. Sandra and Rick
