Help!
My boat has developed a "scum" on the bottom that I can't seem to get off. I've tried a few things, but is there any wonder chemical out there that can take this stuff off? I also have some junk on the lower part of my motor that I can't seem to clean up, kind of like a haze in the paint on my Optimax.
Any suggestions?
Also, what does everyone use as general baot cleaner?
Thanks!!! :D :D :D
I'm on sanford lake and we get brown lines on our boats from the stained water. My dad uses some stuff called "roll-off" on his boat with good results, personally I use Simple Green and it works well. I have to scrub a little more but its not as caustic as roll-off and i don't need to wax as much. hope this helps.
A company named BIO_KLEEN makes a hull cleaner that will take it right off and make your motor look new. You can get it at alot of major marine stores across Michigan. D & R carries it.
I have a white boat...I will never buy a white boat again. Anyway, I use a chemical caused "Zing" to remove the deep stains and I use Bass Boat Saver for everything else. Bass Boat Saver is awesome and you can look them up on the web and get it in a couple of places around the state or order from them.

I have the same problem with my Opti... having the haze on it.
I use a cleaner called Lime Away... it's in a green bottle, and you can find it at most stores.
It doesn't take a lot of elbow grease to get rid of the scale. It also works on scum.
This is not a cleaner that you just wipe off.
Once you have removed the scale, scum and other grime. WASH IT OFF completely!!!
Then dry, I always like to wax my lower unit aterwards to help keep it cleaner longer.
joshimoto son ;D
Does it get rid of the haze on the lower unit?
Yeah Tom,
It takes the white haze off of the lower unit quite well, but if you don't wash it off
I've been told that it tends to eat the paint.
Soooo... I've always washed it after using it, and I've never had a problem, and
it will take that stuff off quick. I was shocked the first time I used it.
