Wednesday, couldn't stand it sitting in the office looking out at the weather and having read all the reports on st clair....I'm out'a here, sorry boss need a day on the water. Getting on the water about 10:30, couple of buckeye boys pulling out..."howz the fishing?" was great the past 3 days, but not to good this morning..."oh oh" . head out to my secret spot, jeez who told all these folks bout my secret spot?? nothing, cast cast cast, change change change and nothing. finally a smack, recast and hook up o'boy its a muskie ( better then a carp or catfish ). hour later, dredging a 12ft crank in 7ft of water, yea its a 3lb'r !! we're on to something now...not. back into a canal to save the day with green bass and two around 2lbs for our effort. back to the main lake, over to the mansion starting at 10 and working our way in and nothing. not just me, nobody around me is catching either, guys were falling a sleep at the electric....what happened ???
They are locking on the beds and the comacozy crankbait bite is ending.
tube time. Or bed bug time!!
How's the water clarity???
You know how it has felt like summer outside the last couple days well I am sure thats jumping the water temp up a good deal and going to be a full moon in a couple days. Like MBFT mentioned a big wave has to be locking on beds right now so I would expect that furious prespawn bite to dwindle. I am heading over tomorrow morning and expecting everything to be different from last week. Hoping for some good clarity and maybe some sight fishing.
Yesterday, anything shallower than 11-12 feet was slightly clearer than my road. Only slightly. And fishing sucked yesterday, too. Caught less than 10. Nothing much over 3.
well eric if i am not mistaken these guys asked you to stay home....because you jinxed the whole lake last week when you said you were going to show up.....proof is in the puddin...lmao you should of just done a drive by
Remember guys, all hope is not lost. The top water and fluke bite will be starting up as they go into post-spawn/fish fly hatch period. If your bored check out Gostenik's video on my site were he guides Joe Thomas to post spawn fishing (mid June) on the mile roads. It's a great time to be out there.

Water clarity yesterday was not great. Clairty and wind did not let us see any beds.
Few fish we did catch were usually on deep diving cranks in 5-7 fow. Two biggest were 18.5" long.
Fish were here and there. Big change over last Saturday's bite.
Today was no better. Then, after it quit raining and got nice, forget it. At least it was that way til we called it and came in.
FIRE ON!!!!!! We found some PIGS today - water is clearing fast.......
